ARTIST STATEMENT

In my work I explore the thin line between what is created and what is originated. My interest lies on the blurred line between results of natural processes and human activities. I create landscapes and universes that refer to our own changing world but are in fact imaginary, sometimes almost abstract.

I am in inspired by signs of human existence in the landscape such as ancient ruins and sculptures, follies, natural and artificial erosion, evolutionary processes, and man-made systems such as mazes. My works often show a hybrid world; half culture, half nature. I make collages, zines, photographs, and installations, often site-specific, that combine found elements with self-made elements.

I live and work in Heinenoord, the Netherlands. My work was exhibited in galleries and projects spaces in the Netherlands  as well as in other countries (see my CV below). And it is part of private and public collections such as the Kunstuitleen in Rotterdam.
