What began at art school as a way to quickly visualize the three-dimensional images in my mind has grown into an ongoing artistic practice. Collage has become a great love, allowing me to create fantasy worlds that seem familiar at first glance, but reveal their strangeness upon  a closer look. By playing with proportions and visual logic, I enjoy how the medium can evoke a sense of disorientation and wonder.

While I previously worked primarily with materials from old books and magazines, I have recently also been working with my own photographs. Sometimes I construct landscapes from sand, clay, or ceramics, photograph them, and weave them into a collage. This ongoing interplay between three-dimensional and two-dimensional processes continues to push the boundaries of image making.
